15 Musicals That I Stream On Spotify

Spotify isn't just perfect for the music lover, it's divine those who enter the theater to witness musicals. At P129/month, it's more expensive for me to go to Starbucks than enjoy a month of unlimited streaming.

1. Rent

Sorry for being a Renthead. Heard Seasons of Love when I was younger and I just had to discover all of what it is. From time to time, I still quote the characters on my Social Media accounts. Jonathan Larson, I hope to meet you in the afterlife.

2. Bring It On

Didn't know Bring It On had a musical until I discovered it on Spotify. Yes, it sounds as cheesy as the film.

3. Motown

This one is another Spotify discovery. Nothing like a good helping of Motown to perk you up! I especially like War, What's Going On.

4. Last 5 Years

Last 5 Years. Sadly, I missed both the play and the film. But ever since I've started listening to this, I've never been free from the hurts and joys of the couple.

5. Once

Once! Been hoping for a theater company to bring it here. Z from the canceled A to Z is actually from this musical.

6. La Cage Aux Folles

I've recently witnessed La Cage and it deserves to be replayed in my mind on loop. This allows me to hear and see my experience at RCBC.

7. American Idiot

Ever since the musical's 21 Guns went viral, I've always wondered how the musical would go. In my mind, it's an updated, angstier Rent. Is anyone staging this soon?

8. Book of Mormon

Blasphemy at its funniest! I guess I'd need to go abroad to see this.

9. Avenue Q

Avenue Q. Best when you're optimistic, down, contemplative, or even when you're in the closet. Great for any time of your life.

10. Into the Woods

Loved this when I first heard it. This is an occasional stream.

11. Wicked

Magical, yes. Can't stop thinking about how they poured out their heart in both performances I've seen at the CCP.

12. If/Then

It's not a secret that I'm a fan of Idina. Don't know why critics don't like this much. I'd have to see it on stage for myself.

13. Chicago

I was supposed to watch this at Solaire but then I wasn't able to find the time to. I'd have to be content with the film and with this for now.

14. Hedwig And The Angry Inch

Angst sprinkled with LGBTQ issues is best let loose on a stressful day.

15. Maxie the Musicale

This is the best find on Spotify for me! Waitng for PETA to restage this since I haven't seen it. It's kanto, it's obscene, but hey, it feels real.

Wishlist:

1. Next to Normal

I've listened to thes in another streaming service. I hope it reaches my preferred one.

2. Manhid

Manhid was wonderful to watch but the audio when we saw it was not great. Higit is still haunting and I need to hear it again soon.

There are a lot more to discover when you log in to Spotify. Send me your thoughts. What are your favorite tracks?
