Got a new blog? Here are some tips!

So maybe you started a blog. It's so easy to make one and there are a lot of free platforms that you can use to launch your ideas and capture your audience nowadays. Maybe you've chosen to have your own URL and would want simply share it to the world. However you created your blog, here are some tips on how to start your blog.

1. Strategize and know who your audience should be.
Know what you want to share to the world. Will you have a food blog? A travel blog? Maybe a mix of both? Know your brand. Will you have a blog that would be a hodgepodge of everything about you? Know your niche, or maybe your lack of having a niche? Will you stay personal or will you be an expert in a certain field? Basically, just know the direction where you want to go.

2. Research what you can do. Learn basic laws.
It's very important to know about copyright laws and data protection laws in your country. You don't want to be sued for recklessly sharing pictures that you do not own or information of other people online. In the Philippines, you may check this website to brush up your knowledge on data privacy. Unauthorized disclosure may give you a very big fine:
SEC. 32. Unauthorized Disclosure. – (a) Any personal information controller or personal information processor or any of its officials, employees or agents, who discloses to a third party personal information not covered by the immediately preceding section without the consent of the data subject, shall he subject to imprisonment ranging from one (1) year to three (3) years and a fine of not less than Five hundred thousand pesos (Php500,000.00) but not more than One million pesos (Php1,000,000.00).
3. Blogging is a community.
Yes, it is a community and you have to take care of your reputation. Be courteous and have common sense. Never ever be disrespectful or demanding. Yes, you have your rights but never overstep boundaries. Even the oldest bloggers in the community would not do anything to leave a bad taste in other people's mouths, be it between bloggers or with outside the blogosphere.



These tips may be general but knowing these would help you a lot in your blogging journey. Remember to think about your actions before doing them, alright?
