To cap off their 28th season, Ateneo Blue Repertory proudly presents Next to Normal

A contemporary rock musical with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, Next To Normal tackles themes like mental health, drug abuse, and ethics in modern psychiatry. It tells of a family’s struggle to cope with such mental health issues including family pressure, grief, and the intricacies of everyday life. Focusing especially on the story of Diana Goodman, audiences are taken on a journey of how this family’s matriarch deals with the darker sides of everyday life, all whilst trying to take care of her seemingly normal family.

Next To Normal is directed Missy Maramara and co-directed by Darrell Uy, the tandem behind blueREP’s award-winning hit last season, Spring Awakening. Working with them in the Artistic Team are Ejay Yatco as Musical Director, Franco Ramos as Choreographer, Miyo Sta. Maria as Lighting Designer, Cholo Ledesma as Sound Designer, Tata Tuviera as Production Designer, and Creative Coordination by Bea Jose.
