On its 42nd Theater Season, Adaptation | Pagbabanyuhay: Bagong Anyo ng Buhay, Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running theater company of the Loyola Schools, is proud to present M.45, the forty-five minute climax of “Makbetamaximus: Theatre of Destruction”, a 30-day deconstruction of William Shakespeare’s “The Tragedy of Macbeth” as translated by National Artist Rolando S. Tinio. M.45 boils, bubbles, & burns a bitches’ brew that pushes the boundaries of theatre both live & online. In 1983, a 19 year old Iwi Laurel was juggling theater rehearsals, a pre-law course, a restaurant job, multiple singing stints, when a golden opportunity came to her in the form of a song that would change the direction of her life. Raymond Lauchengco approached Iwi to ask her to sing “Special Memory” which became part of a movie that he was working on with Gary Valenciano. The demo tape was sent at 11AM and at 1PM of the same day, Iwi was already in the studio. The film became a hit and instead of being a lawyer, she became a singer. Three years after Iwi Laurel’s encounter with Cecile Azarcon’s creation, she became a mother to Nicole. GMG Productions Launches Workshop Series, Partners with Open House Fundraiser and the Artists’ Welfare Project Inc. (AWPI)

Enrollment begins May 7, Friday. MANILA, PHILIPPINES - GMG Productions is partnering with the Open House Fundraiser and the Artists’ Welfare Project, Inc. for their newly launched Workshop Series. Through its large network of shows and the magic of the internet, GMG are able to bring a piece of these international shows into peoples’ homes. A portion of the workshops’ proceeds will go to Open House as well as five workshop scholarships per week that shall be extended to qualified beneficiaries as part of additional revenue-generating measures for the Open House Fundraiser. GMG’s first Workshop Series will be taught by international touring cast members that have performed in Manila.
