A "musical blind date." This is how Nicole puts how she met the band Basically Saturday Night. Definitely, this is one blind date gone right.
A suggestion over a video call started everything. Entering the collaborative space Basically Saturday Night fondly calls "The Lab" was a new experience for Nicole. She was new in the environment while the band had been playing for years. She did know what to expect, but they found common ground in their mutual respect for soul, jazz, and blues greats. It was natural as "good energy was traveling throughout the session," Junoy Manalo, Guitarist of Basically Saturday Night, says.
Nicole's experience and Basically Saturday Night's signature sound got to know each other better as they recorded at Wildgrass Studios. The vibe ushered in the chords, melodies, and riffs while Migie Garcia's vocals complimented Nicole's. The high from their collaborative spirits pointed them to add Lester Sorilla's smooth horns arrangement, a tick on the band's bucket list.
Imagine listening to old soul flavor in times. Open your ears to deep smoky vocals, sultry and powerful tones, smooth and silky guitar, blended rock and jazz, and top that with a formidable horn section. Keyboards, bass, and drums add flavor and tie everything in as the story is told in illuminating verses. You are about to experience the perfect marriage of Nicole and Basically Saturday Night's talents. The best part is it seems that this is only the start.
Come home to this great track as we all find "The One" available on all digital platforms on February 11, 2022. Fall deeper when we witness the music video directed by award-winning director Gorio Vicuna by the end of February.
