FEU Theater Guild’s Bangaw Opens March 5, 2026 at FEU Center for the Arts Studio
On March 5, 2026, the FEU Theater Guild invites audiences into a space where discomfort becomes the point.
In its 92nd season, the Far Eastern University Theater Guild presents Bangaw, a Filipino play with music adapted from William Golding’s Lord of the Flies. Staged at the FEU Center for the Arts Studio in Far Eastern University Manila, this production reimagines a classic survival tale through a distinctly Filipino lens.
If you are searching for Bangaw FEU Theater Guild March 2026 show dates, cast, ticket prices, and synopsis, here is everything you need to know.
What Is Bangaw About?
Described as an adventurous reimagination of William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, Bangaw follows a group of high school students from different schools who become stranded on a remote island in the Visayas after a plane crash.
There are no adults.
No government.
No rules.
What begins as a mission to survive slowly unravels into factional conflict, fear, and a growing obsession with hunting. The belief in a lurking monster intensifies tensions. After a boar is killed and its head transformed into an idol, the so-called Lord of the Flies, paranoia escalates into violence. A hallucination is mistaken for proof of the monster’s existence, igniting a frenzy that claims two lives and collapses their fragile attempt at civilization.
Written by Gold Villar-Lim, with music by Vince Lim, and directed by Dudz Teraña, PETA Senior Artist-Teacher and FTG Artistic Director, Bangaw interrogates survival, leadership, identity, and moral decay in a society shaped by contemporary cultural and political realities.
Layered with original music by Gold Villar-Lim and two additional songs by Dudz Teraña, the production blends symbolic movement, raw emotional expression, and rhythmic realism. Traditional and modern Filipino soundscapes pulse throughout the performance, reflecting a nation caught between collapse and renewal.
Beyond performance, Bangaw confronts division, abuse of power, systemic failure, patriarchy, and moral decay, while foregrounding enduring Filipino values such as bayanihan, resilience, and strategic intelligence.
This is survival staged as metaphor.
This is fear made political.
This is youth forced to lead in a fractured world.

Opening March 5, 2026, Bangaw is not simply a student adaptation of Lord of the Flies. It is a Filipino reinterpretation of power, fear, and survival. It is a reflection on leadership in the absence of structure. It is a reminder that when systems collapse, what remains is character.
And that, perhaps, is what makes it urgent.
