Heroism: Always a Cause for Celebration #WUheroes
In time for National Heroes Day, 25 Filipino migrants were selected by Western Union to be known as Heroes for Better. The company spent months to look for those who take time to make a difference and have a positive impact in their communities. From Left: Nilo Beltran, Edmond Corpuz, and Nestor Puno Nilo Beltran experienced working in Saipan. His migrant story started when he wanted to change his situation here in the country. Nilo is paying it forward with Skills Caravan, a non-profit organization that gives workshops to out-of-school youth and jail inmates, among other underprivileged groups. Nilo believes that when the Philippines becomes economically better than surrounding countries, it would be possible for us to stay here and not look for greener pastures elsewhere.
