Alam Mo Ba Kung Nasaan Ang Birtud?

Living far from SMX, I made sure that I was at the venue early. Got there about 10 minutes before they started letting people in and this crew practicing near our Meeting Room caught my attention. Curiously, I was looking around but my ears were focused on what they were talking about. I heard "birtud" and I just had to observe some more. I quickly noticed that they were wearing SLU shirts and I was already impressed with their movements.
The word "birtud" caught my attention because the event that I attended was the book launch of Moymoy Lulumboy, Ang Nawawalang Birtud.

Moymoy Lulumboy is written by Segundo "Kuya Jun" Matias, Jr, a Palanca Awardee and writer for TV, film, and chlidren's literature.

I was honored to be able to witness the greatness of Tanghalang SLU. A short performance, showcasing the plot of the second book was presented by this multi-awarded theater group.
Due to the success of the first book, "Ang Batang Aswang," Moymoy Lulumboy has been turned into a series. Kuya Jun shares that he shall continue to write as long as there is clamor from the readers. Nothing is certain at this point but it might be as many as nine books.

Moymoy Lulumboy is arguably the best young adult Filipino series available. I'd recommend this to its target audience and even to people outside that age group as it is a very interesting take on Philippine folklore. Even if it is in Filipino (I confess that I read slower in Filipino), it is an easy read. Illustrations also assist your imagination rather than dictate. Best of all, the greatest value, as per Kuya Jun, that is present in the series is the Filipino's love for family.
