My Another Story Experience: A Leaky And Incompetent Situation
Located at the 2/F of the Evia Lifestyle Center along Daang Hari, Another Story was an eyeful. One way or another, its interiors will catch your attention. Mismatched chairs, writings on the wall, both cheesy and informative, and other trinkets will definitely catch your attention. Food and drinks were more expensive than expected but they didn't quite meet my expected happy ending.
The cheesecake was good but the sea salt caramel sauce was blah. It was too runny, maybe even a bit salty. It disconnected itself from the actual dessert. The crust was worse. Graham crackers in mango float homemade refrigerator cakes had better consistency.
I had a Flat White and it was actually that. It was too flat, too thin, too warm to be enjoyed.
Servers weren't familiar with the coffee drinks and they had to call their barista to assist us. This was alright but when asked if a certain drink already has sugar, I expect a quick answer, not one delayed by asking the barista yet again.
Coffee was served on a board and was just left on the table. It wasn't given to who actually ordered the drink. At one point, my dad was suggesting something to the server but in the middle of my dad talking, he excused himself to attend to another customer. I'm quite sure the suggestion did not reach the management.
I know that it was a new restaurant but the table that we first sat in was already wobbly. This was okay until the a leak from the roof started dripping. It was some kind of orange oil. The air-con leak, as per the servers was a known problem but they still allowed us to stay on our table. As if our bad experience wasn't enough, we witnessed more dripping at another air-conditioning unit.
Be prepared if you don't have cash. Yesterday's servers blamed their "portable" terminal for not being sure if they can accept cards. No, this shouldn't be the problem of the customer.
Yes, it's a newly-opened store and we were just there for dessert and some coffee. The food looked like they had big servings but this was a tragic visit. Not sure how they can recover but Another Story may just not deserve another visit.
