Get ready for the most authentic Oktoberfest at Solaire!

For the second year, German Club Manila and Solaire brings to the country the real Oktoberfest. This will be happening from October 17 to 19 at The Tent at Solaire.
Just recently, I was invited for a preview of how to festivities would commence. Solaire's function room, Forum, was transformed into how Oktoberfest is celebrated in Munich, Germany. Even the servers were in traditional clothes! As we were seated, authentic German fare were immediately served. For starters, we were given German breads, pretzels, sausage salad, cold cuts, and a cheese platter. Of course, Weihenstephan beer was also provided.
The program started when German Club's Michael Scheile and Eiffelene Salvador got on the stage. A short history of Oktoberfest was given and Solaire's Vice President of Food & Beverage, Knut Becker, welcomed the crowd and expressed his delight in the renewed partnership. To officially open the event, the ceremonial toast was given as Solaire's Vice President for Culinary, Michael Dinges, joined them on the stage. More food were served as the lively Fliegerlied filled Forum once again.
It was definitely a feast as plates of Weisswurst, Spaetzle Pan, sausages and meats, and roasted potatoes were put on our table. A raffle draw and games livened the crowd as strudel and Kaiserschmarn were made available for dessert.
Based on what I experienced, the 81st Oktoberfest will definitely another success! Allow yourself to be transformed to Munich by going to this year's celebration. For tickets, you may reach German Club at 894 2899 or 818 4236 or book online at www.oktoberfest.ph
