Dulaang UP Restages Award-Winning "Rosang Taba" This April 2024

Get ready for an inspiring theatrical experience as Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (Dulaang UP) brings back the critically acclaimed "Kung Paano Nanalo sa Karera si Rosang Taba" this April 19 to May 05, 2024, at the IBG-KAL Theater in UP Diliman.

Hailed as one of the Best Filipino Theatre productions of 2023, this reimagining of Dean Francis Alfar's beloved children's book by Maynard Manansala and Rody Vera is a powerful tale of reclaiming independence and celebrating one's freedom.

The play revolves around Rosa, an ordinary character from the fictional world of Katao, who finds herself in a race against her oppressors, with her family's liberty at stake. Directed by José Estrella, Issa Manalo Lopez, and Mark Daniel Dalacat, and backed by fierce music and wit, "Rosang Taba" explores how limitations can be overcome when one has the will to fight for their freedom.

How does an ordinary Katao like Rosa defeat a menacing commandant in a race? You'll have to catch the show to witness her triumph!

This production continues Dulaang UP's celebration of women in its 46th Season, "Sidhi't Silakbo," which envisions women liberating themselves through performances of freedom, fury, wit, rage, love, and ruin.

To celebrate Women's Month, opening week tickets for April 19–21 shows are on sale for the UP Community until March 15 at PHP 550. Non-UP Student tickets are available at PHP 750, PWD/Senior Citizens at PHP 800, and Regular tickets at PHP 1,000 (bit.ly/RosangTaba2024). Regular, non-discounted tickets can be purchased via Ticket2Me (ticket2me.net/event/21729).
