Nicole Laurel Asensio Drops "I Know My Worth" - A Feisty Empowerment Anthem For The Modern Woman

The unstoppable Nicole Laurel Asensio is back with a new single that serves as both a celebration and bold affirmation for women during International Women's Month.

Titled "I Know My Worth", the fiery yet refined pop number blends vintage and modern elements to create an empowerment anthem perfect for the multifaceted, multitalented woman of today. With punchy verses flowing into a powerful hook, the song pulls no punches in reminding women to embrace their immense value.

"We must know our worth, we must tell our stories and we must never let anyone put us in a box because of gender, race, age, appearance or social status," asserts Asensio with her distinctively smoky vocals. "Music transcends all of that and more."

The track features brassy flourishes, lush strings, and a thumping backbeat layered under Asensio's dynamic vocals that slink from sassiness to pure vocal fury. It's the musical equivalent of a couture evening gown paired with killer stilettos - elegant but utterly unstoppable.

Asensio co-wrote and produced "I Know My Worth" with the renowned Sam Akins after connecting online during the pandemic. "Writing with her is easy because she is in tune with herself and knows what she wants," praised Akins. "She isn't afraid to test the waters and try new things, which to me are the markings of longevity in the entertainment industry."

Rounding out the high-powered female collective on the song are saxophonist Saxdiva, trombonist Vanessa Celestial, bassist Yuna Reguerra, and backing vocalist Yanni Diola. The seasoned players lend their skills to the undeniably infectious grooves.

"Being a woman in the music industry is difficult. Regardless of how well you perform or how skilled you are, there will always be people who attribute your success to your gender," remarked Saxdiva, highlighting the continued need to uplift and celebrate talented women in the arts.
Fans can catch the first live performance of "I Know My Worth" at the pre-launch party on March 19th at 12 Monkeys in Estancia Mall. The digital release via Warner Music Philippines follows on March 29th across all platforms.
