As they celebrate their 20th year, Mediartrix, the university-wide multimedia and musical theatre organization of the University of Santo Tomas, is ready to present their newest original musical production “Payong The Musical” written by Marlon Villoso.
The story is about Ella, a saleslady in a mall who tries to recover from heartbreak. While an actual storm ensues, her emotions and life also take a stormy turn with a simple umbrella and an encounter with a wide ensemble of characters. Weaved with OPM anthems of love and heartbreak, the story unfolds in Ella’s journey of moving on and finding real love; but will she? Will she see the rainbow after the rain?
The talented cast and ensemble will surely make you experience a roller-coaster of emotions and a remarkable once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Under the direction of Bianca Patricia Ballesteros and management by John Christian Calungsod, this production will be staged at the Albertus Magnus Auditorium at the University of Santo Tomas. Show dates are at February 7 and 8, 7:00-9:00pm; February 9, 1:00-3:00pm, 4:00-6:00pm, and 7:00pm, and on February 10, 4:00-6:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 7:30 PM, the GSIS Theater becomes a listening room for possibility as the Manila Symphony Orchestra presents eleven young soloists from the 2025 MSO Concerto Competition. This is not just a winners’ night. It is a progress report on where our next generation is headed, with full orchestra as witness.
