Celinda Pe De Guia of Ovation Productions proudly announces that their company will bring to Manila "SISTER ACT." This is the second presentation of a Broadway musical by Ovation Productions following Disney’s Beauty and the Beast presented at the Cultural Center of the Philippines a few years ago.

The hilarious, five-time Tony-nominated musical smash hit SISTER ACT tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look - a convent ! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her fabulous disco vibe and killer voice to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church, but in doing so, blows her cover. Soon it’s nun-on-the-run time but Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, SISTER ACT is reason to rejoice!

"Sister Act" premieres on June 27 at The Theatre at Solaire as part of the Asian leg of the production’s Australian and Asian tour for 2017. Performances shall run until July 7.

The New York Post calls it "RIDICULOUSLY FUN," and audiences are jumping to their feet in total agreement!

SISTER ACT features the original music and score by 8-time Oscar® winner ALAN MENKEN (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors) with lyrics by Tony and Academy Award-nominee Glenn Slater (The Little Mermaid), with a vast inspiration of musical styles from Motown, soul and funk to great big disco anthems and Barry White inspired musical comedy.

SISTER ACT received five 2011 Tony® Award nominations including BEST MUSICAL, BEST ORIGINAL SCORE (Alan Menken (music)/Glenn Slater (lyrics), and BEST BOOK OF A MUSICAL (Cheri & Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane).

SISTER ACT is a stage re-creation of the music and general story of the hit 1992 film comedy of the same title which starred Whoopi Goldberg.
