Klasical: A Captivating Tribute to Philippine History and Musical Excellence

Ephesus Teatron Group Inc. proudly announces its return to the music scene with a significant live musical concert called "Klasical." After being absent for over three years, the group is excited to showcase their first musical production on June 10, 2023, at the OnStage Theatre, Greenbelt 1, Makati.

"Klasical" is a tribute to Philippine history and celebrates the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence. The highly talented Sweet Samaniego, the performance director, produces the show. The featured artists include Marga Roco, Terence Guillermo, Onyl Torres, and Nazer Salcedo, while special guests include Pinky Marquez, Miguel Braganza, and the Gala Dance Company.

The musical is a traditional classical Filipino music repertoire, updated with improved instruments, symphony, melody, harmony, orchestra, and vocal arrangements. The show aims to preserve the country's national culture by showcasing traditional Filipino songs with renewed vigor and appreciation across generations.

Philippine music has evolved from its grassroots origins of highly emotional and romantic love songs to a highly developed art with universal appeal. Classical Philippine music is a unique way to relax and enjoy this distinct style of Filipino culture, even if you don't understand a single word.

"Klasical" features unforgettable kundiman songs, such as Ako'y Kampupot, Mutya ng Pasig, Nasaan Ka Irog, Bituing Marikit, Gaano Ko Ikaw Kamahal, Folksong Medley, Kalesa, Ay, Ay, Ay, O Pag-ibig, and Katakataka. The musical depicts love, heartbreak, courtship and serenade, passion, and poetic expressions of love for the country and history. It also includes a few arias and opera pieces like O Mio Babbino Caro, Canto Patriotico De Maria Clara, and others.

The performance is carried out by the immense talent of Tribu and their unwavering commitment to musical excellence. Expect an updated and well-arranged musical score by one of the most sought-after musical directors, Pifo Cifra.
