Open Auditions for Singers in the Filipino Rock Opera Ballet 'Rama, Hari' - Join the Iconic Production!
The creative team behind the Filipino Rock Opera Ballet, Rama, Hari, comprising National Artists Ryan Cayabyab and Alice Reyes, is currently conducting auditions to complete the cast of singers for this renowned production. Auditionees aged 18 and above, with exceptional singing and dancing abilities and proficiency in the Filipino language, are invited to participate.
The auditions are open to singers aged 18 and above who possess exceptional singing and dancing abilities and proficiency in the Filipino language. Interested candidates can access the audition form at https://forms.gle/KnGitzn3mAvvX8wx7 and are required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV), headshot, full-body photos, an unlisted YouTube video showcasing their vocal range by performing an OPM song (video title format: [Role] - [Last Name, First Name] - [Song]), and unlisted YouTube video clips displaying their dance skills (video title format: [Last Name, First Name] - Dance Video - Rama, Hari Audition).
The deadline for online video submissions is May 21, 2023. Auditionees can expect to receive callback results via email by May 28, 2023. Successful auditionees must be available for all rehearsals and performances.
The available roles for audition include Rama, Sita, Ravana, King Dasaratha, Soorpanakha/Kooni, Kaikeyi/Gintong Usa, and Lakshmana/Hanuman.
For the role of Rama, auditionees should possess a Baritone/Tenor vocal range and excellent dance skills. The part involves portraying the Prince and son of King Dasaratha.
Auditionees should have a Mezzo-Soprano vocal range with a Belt and strong dance abilities to audition for the role of Sita. The position requires portraying the Princess of Mithila and Rama's beloved wife.
Auditionees interested in the role of Ravana should be Tenors with the ability to sing Pop/Rock/Theatre genres confidently and proficiently in dance. This role entails portraying the main antagonist, the most powerful of demons.
For the role of King Dasaratha, auditionees should have a Baritone vocal range and excellent dramatic skills. The part involves portraying Rama's father and the King of Kosala.
Auditionees interested in the dual role of Soorpanakha/Kooni should be Sopranos with a Belt who excel in dance and physical comedy. Soorpanakha is Ravana's demon sister, while Kooni is a devious witch and adviser to Queen Kaikeyi.
Auditionees who are interested in the dual role of Kaikeyi/Gintong Usa, auditionees should be Sopranos with a Belt who deliver exceptional dramatic performances. Kaikeyi is the third wife of King Dasaratha.
For the dual role of Lakshmana/Hanuman, auditionees should possess a Baritone/Tenor vocal range, exceptional dance skills, and the ability to perform high-energy choreography. Lakshmana is Rama's younger brother, while Hanuman is the General of the Monkey Army of Kiskinda.
Rama, Hari, featuring Artists of CCP's Professional Artist Support Program and Alice Reyes Dance Philippines, is scheduled to be showcased at the Metropolitan Theater on September 15-16 and at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater on September 22-23, 2023.
