NCCA Gallery Unveils KableArt Exhibition
Celebrating Filipino Creativity
In line with the National Arts Month’s theme, “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain,” the KableArt exhibition aims to reinvigorate the inherent goodness in the Filipino community and its social values. Jasareno’s KableArt is a creative approach that intertwines the subtle movements and directions of upcycled coaxial cables and wires. The mounted pieces traverse conventional boundaries and dimensions, evoking narratives of Philippine landscapes.
A Warm Welcome
The opening reception began with a welcoming message from NCCA executive director Oscar G. Casaysay, followed by an opening message from the National Committee on Art Galleries (NCAG) head Maria Teresa Rayos Del Sol.
Artist's Insight
Visual artist Ruben Jasareno shared his sentiments about the arts and processes involved in making KableArt. He explained, “This exhibit signifies transformation. It's not just about perseverance and crossing boundaries, but about transformation, maybe personal, social, or even national.”
Engaging the Public
The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was attended by students, arts and culture enthusiasts, and the general public. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in discourse with the artist himself throughout the afternoon.
