A Spectacular Evening of Illusions, Laughter, and Unprecedented Feats

Last Friday night in the heart of Makati City, the enchanting world of magic unfolded as international stage magician and master illusionist, IVAN the Selfie Magician, took center stage for his one-night-only concert, "Magic of Love." The sold-out event left the audience in awe as Ivan showcased a mesmerizing blend of breathtaking illusions, comedy, and unparalleled showmanship.

Unveiling the Extravaganza
Dressed impeccably in a bespoke black three-piece suit by designer Ryan Chris, Ivan made a dramatic entrance through the audience, wielding a flaming torch that pierced the darkness. With a flourish, he ignited an empty cage, conjuring a woman holding an eight-foot-long luxury ivory Burmese python seemingly out of thin air. The astonishing spectacle continued as the same woman was hypnotized, sawed in half, and reassembled before the astonished eyes of a diverse audience.

Engaging the Crowd
Ivan's showmanship extended beyond solo performances, as he invited eager audience members to join him on stage. From catching doves out of nowhere to participating in his signature mentalism act, Ivan made sure everyone felt the magic. A romantic LED and lights show accompanied a heartwarming moment when he introduced his girlfriend, journalist and Binibining Pilipinas 2022 candidate Justinne Punsalang, claiming that the entire show was her brainchild.

Innovative Illusions
A true pioneer in the Philippine magic scene, Ivan wowed the crowd with an act involving seven floating crystal balls. His crystal ball act showcased not only his skill but also his innovative approach to magic, establishing him as the sole magician with such exceptional illusion skills in the country.

Dazzling Finale
The climax of the evening reached new heights as Ivan demonstrated his freediving skills. Chained and submerged in an acrylic box filled with water, Ivan captivated the audience as he escaped with only a lungful of air, leaving them in suspense for a mere 10 seconds before emerging drenched but unscathed.

Behind the Scenes
Ivan's dedication to perfection was evident in the meticulous production of the show. Collaborating with actor CJ Barinaga as director and magician Leodini Domapias as script consultant, he ensured a flawless performance. Multi-awarded lighting director Gabo Tolentino added to the magic with his stunning light design, while stage actors Ash Nicanor and Liway Perez served as Ivan's assistants.

With an impressive 19 years of magic and illusion experience, Ivan the Selfie Magician is set to extend his magical empire overseas, with regular performances in Singapore starting this year.
