Featuring a powerhouse ensemble of accomplished vocalists, the members of Tribu include:

The music for this special evening is arranged by Pipo Cifra, and the event will feature special guest artist Nicole Laurel-Asensio.

A Legacy of Musical Excellence

Tribu traces its roots to the iconic Tribung Pinoy, an Aliw Award-winning cultural group from the 1980s, led by the late Danny Dolor, a passionate advocate for Filipino culture. Inspired to continue this legacy, Sweet Samaniego-Buchanan, a UST-trained coloratura soprano, formed Tribu in 2011 with the support of Ephesus Teatron Group Inc..

Since then, Tribu has evolved from a vocal ensemble performing kundiman, Filipino folk songs, and zarzuelas, to a versatile group known for their expertly arranged repertoire that includes opera arias, art songs, Broadway classics, and timeless melodies from around the world. Their musical excellence and passion have made them a fixture in the Philippine cultural scene.

A Stellar Track Record of Performances

Over the years, Tribu has performed in prestigious venues such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), RCBC Theatre, and Onstage Greenbelt 1. They have headlined solo concerts like the “Timeless Musical Series”, “Reminiscences”, “Serenade”, and “Klasical”, enchanting audiences with their unique blend of traditional and modern music.

Beyond concerts, Tribu has graced various cultural festivals, corporate events, and award nights, including performances at the Maubanog Festival, Manila Food and Wine Festival, and the Aliw Awards’ Gabi ng Parangal.

In 2023, they released their debut album, “Klasical Tribu: A Collection of Immortal Filipino Folk Songs”, a testament to their dedication to preserving and celebrating the rich musical heritage of the Philippines.

Tribu’s commitment to artistic excellence has earned them numerous accolades, including:
