FEU Theater Guild's Ang Pinakamakisig sa mga Nalunod sa Buong Daigdig Set to Make Waves this October!
As the Far Eastern University (FEU) Theater Guild (FTG) celebrates its 90th theater season, the guild is gearing up for the much-anticipated restaging of “Ang Pinakamakisig sa mga Nalunod sa Buong Daigdig.” This powerful adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s “The Handsomest Drowned Man” will once again bring audiences to the mysterious shores of Isla Esteban. Co-presented by the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA) and the Alumni Relations Office (ARO), the play will premiere on October 2, 2024 at the FEU Center of the Arts Studio.
A Theatrical Experience Like No Other
This fourth restaging promises a unique and captivating twist—the entire play is set on water! Artistic Director Dudz Teraña shared that working with water presents a thrilling challenge, making this production unlike any of the previous stagings. Audiences can expect to be transported to the calm yet eerie coasts of Isla Esteban, where a great mystery is about to disturb its peaceful shores.
Accompanied by Jeff Hernandez’s evocative musical compositions and under the musical direction of Jesus Singh III (IAS ‘17), the play’s magic-realism atmosphere will be heightened by a talented ensemble of actors and singers from FTG. This exciting production promises to capture the Garcia Marquez blend of otherworldly mystery and human tragicomedy, which critics have praised since its earlier stagings.
A Stellar Cast and Unique Characters
For this production, there will be two sets of townspeople, with an all-female and all-male principal cast. FTG’s current members and alumni will bring to life a range of memorable characters, including:
- Pipi, the narrator: Played by Brigitta Marilla (IAS '25), Kesiah Aritao (IAS '25), and FTG alumna Raven Relavo Singh (IAS '17)
