The People Sing Again: Les Misérables Returns to Manila in Full Spectacle

🎟️ Not a drill: Les Miz is coming back, and it’s going full spectacle.

🌧️ Cue the overture, clear your January calendar, and warm up those vocal cords—because the people are singing again.
After storming stages across the UK, Europe, and Australia, LES MISÉRABLES: WORLD TOUR SPECTACULAR is making its next major stop right here in Manila, opening January 20, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire for a strictly limited run. And by all accounts, this version is not just a return—it’s a revolution.

“This powerfully perfect production lifts the roof off!”
Daily Record, Scotland

To those who cried in secret to “On My Own,” screamed “Do You Hear The People Sing?” in the car, or held someone’s hand tighter during “Bring Him Home”—this is your moment.

Forty years since it first broke ground in London’s West End, Les Miz arrives in Manila in an epic new form: reimagined sets, updated lighting, high-definition projections, a full international cast, and a live ensemble of musicians including Filipino artists. More than 110 company members will bring Victor Hugo’s timeless story of justice, love, and redemption to life. And yes, you will feel it in your bones.

This is the Staged Concert super-sized.
This is the Les Miz we’ve never seen.
This is “One Day More,” with the volume turned all the way up.

🎭 So what’s new, exactly?

  • A world tour format, designed to fill arenas and grand stages

  • A cast of international leads and Filipino talents, performing live

  • Next-level staging: massive new sets, light design, and projections

  • The full, thunderous Les Misérables orchestra, conducted by Adrian Kirk

  • Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, in partnership with GMG Productions Manila

“I did hear the people sing—and it was magical.”
The Guardian, Sydney

🎤 GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal puts it simply:

“This is a groundbreaking, never-before-seen format. Filipino audiences have always embraced world-class theatre, and this is unlike anything they’ve experienced before.”

And if GMG’s track record is anything to go by—Hamilton, SIX, Miss Saigon, and most recently Dear Evan Hansen—you know this won’t be a quiet season.

I don’t know about you, but I grew up with this musical. Its chords are tattooed on my memory. It’s the background music of my angst, my hope, and my first heartbreak. Hearing it's coming back—louder, larger, and live—isn’t just news. It’s personal.

This is your call.
Clear your schedule.
Meet me at the barricades.
